Micky Verhaeg is the owner of Shuffly. Micky has been an entrepreneur all of his life. When he got hooked to shuffleboard in New Zealand, and found out he could nowhere rent or buy it in Holland, he decided to start making his own shuffleboards.
Micky studied mechanical engineering, learned woodworking when he was young with his uncle (who was his neighbor), and learned welding at another job. Micky made his own shuffleboard design, learned how to work with epoxy and step by step made his own shuffleboard. 4 years later now, this shuffleboard design has been optimized ever since and a lot of new shuffleboards have been developed.
Micky is all about quality, craftsmanship and natural materials. He doesn't like to throw things away or to help to grow the garbage dumps in the world. Therefor is aim is to make shuffleboards of high quality which last 20 or 50 years. In other words, as long as possible! Like this the most people, and generations can enjoy shuffleboard. Because Shuffleboard is a timeless game and for all ages. Micky's grandmother can play it and future children should be able to enjoy the game as long as possible!
Micky: "Everytime I see people having fun on a shuffleboard I've made or designed, it makes me happy."
Shuffly exists since 2018 after a course entrepreneurship at the Hogeschool of Amsterdam. Shuffly is the first manufacturer of shuffleboards in The Netherlands and sold more than 20 shuffleboards since. Shuffly now wants to scale up production and make it more efficient. Also Shuffly keeps developing new shuffleboards to be able to offer shuffleboards for all target groups and budgets. Like this Shuffly keeps innovating and trying to create the best shuffleboard experience.
All shuffleboards are handmade in Eindhoven. First, a 3D design is created with passion and meticulousness. Then, suitable materials are sourced and ordered. The shuffleboard is then completely made in Shuffly's own workshop. Shuffly has a metal workshop for welding and assembling metal frames and components. Shuffly also has a wood workshop equipped with all the necessary machines to process rough wood into a full-fledged wooden shuffleboard. Epoxy work is done in a spray booth with good ventilation. There's a sky bar at the top of the building, and let's not forget, there's a shuffleboard in the canteen!
